(Aug. 14, 2023) Boston, MA: Media Literacy Now is pleased to announce a grant from the Argosy Foundation to elevate our coalition work and build the capacity of our advocates. This grant will further MLN’s work to inspire action in states across the country and provide structure and resources that lower the barriers to entry for advocates.

“Attention to media literacy education has increased dramatically,” said Erin McNeill, CEO of Media Literacy Now. “Students and parents, teachers and other educators, and policymakers at all levels, are looking for guidance on how they can contribute to the movement. The Argosy Foundation is helping us respond to the increased interest in our work.”

The mission of the Argosy Foundation is to support people and programs that make our society a better place to live. Their intention is to “solve systemic problems, build teams and communities, create replicable solutions, and inspire others to contribute in their own ways.”

Funding from the Argosy Foundation will enhance MLN’s ability to organize and strengthen coalitions around school libraries and k-12 health educators, support people who want to take action in their communities, and gather data to support policy change.

Media Literacy Now informs and drives policy change at local, state, and national levels in the U.S. to ensure all K-12 students are taught media literacy so that they become confident and competent media consumers and creators. MLN is a 501c3 nonprofit, nonpartisan organization based in Massachusetts.
