Pakistan–Malaysia Sign Six Strategic Agreements Strengthening Trade, Education & Anti-Corruption Cooperation. The agreements were finalized during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s three-day official visit to Malaysia, held on the special invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The signing ceremony took place at the Perdana Putra Complex, where both leaders witnessed the exchange of official documents during delegation-level talks.
These agreements mark a major milestone for long-term cooperation, economic growth, and people-to-people connectivity between the two countries.
Cooperation in Diplomatic Training
A key agreement was signed between Pakistan’s Foreign Service Academy and Malaysia’s Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR).

The MoU was exchanged between Pakistan’s Deputy PM & Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Malaysia’s Foreign Minister Haji Muhammad bin Haji Hassan.

Education remains one of the strongest pillars of Pakistan–Malaysia relations. The newly signed MoU in higher education will expand collaboration between universities.

Recognizing the global importance of the halal economy, Pakistan and Malaysia signed a significant agreement to strengthen cooperation in halal certification.

Cooperation in Anti-Corruption
In a major step towards enhancing governance and transparency, both countries agreed to deepen cooperation in anti-corruption initiatives.

The MoU will improve collaboration between Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
The documents were exchanged between NAB Deputy Chairman Sohail Nasir and MACC Chief Commissioner Azam Bin Baki.
Collaboration in the Sector of SMEs
To support business development and economic growth, Pakistan and Malaysia signed an MoU focusing on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

This agreement was signed between SMEDA Pakistan and SME Corporation Malaysia. Documents were exchanged by SME Corp Malaysia CEO Rijal Bin Dato’ Nain and Pakistan’s Special Assistant to the PM Syed Tariq Fatemi.
A New Chapter in Pakistan–Malaysia Partnership
These six landmark agreements reflect the deepening strategic partnership between Pakistan and Malaysia.
